Technical Manager

Work & Responsibilities

During the Spring split of UR 2021-22 I had several roles, including: Technical Admin, Match Admin, Camera Admin, and Bracket Admin.

 

My work as Technical Admin included:

 

  • Maintaining the codebase of the overlay control system that is used by the organisation.
  • Programming dynamic overlays that utilises Rocket League game state integration. As well as overlays that can be controlled by our overlay control system.
  • Using the Hype Chamber to help create content for broadcasts and socials. Such as post-game team winner Hype Chamber videos.
  • Maintaining the organisation website

 

 

As Match Admin my role included:

 

  • Creating and sending lobby information to teams
  • Overseeing matches so that they are completed in line with tournament rules
  • Raising match issues, as well as helping to resolve them myself inside the lobby
  • Saving and uploading match replays

 

 

The Camera Admin role included:

 

  • Managing camera feeds from each player
  • Setting up the overlay control system to use the camera feeds in the dynamic overlays
  • Performing pre-match eligibility checks on the players
  • Monitoring and adjusting camera feeds to maintain good quality during matches

 

 

As Bracket Admin the work included:

 

  • Managing qualifier brackets for the main event
  • Dealing with support requests from matches
  • Keeping bracket particpants up to date with information through Discord
